St. Michael's Madikeri

St. Michael is primarily recognized as the Archangel Michael, a significant figure in Christian theology, Judaism, and Islam. In Christian tradition, he is considered the leader of the heavenly armies, often depicted as a warrior defeating evil forces, particularly Satan. His name translates to “Who is like God?” in Hebrew, reflecting his role as a defender of divine justice.

In Catholicism, he is venerated as the patron saint of soldiers, police officers, and those in need of protection. St. Michael is also associated with miracles and healing, celebrated on September 29 (Michaelmas) along with the Archangels Gabriel and Raphael.
